The purpose of this position is to increase market share of the John Deer Product Line within the salespersons designated territory.  Through a strong presence in the market, this positon will lay the foundation for continued growth and profitability.  This position will also enhance opportunities for growth in Service and Parts Departments.

This position directly impacts customer experience, revenue and profitability and is fundamental to our continued growth and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the sales process for customers by providing expert John Deere product and performance information
  • Call on customers and prospects with appropriate frequency within assigned territory
  • Maintain accurate customer records within the CRM system
  • Conduct effective field demonstrations
  • Protect customer information securely in accordance to the company Information Security Program
  • Stay current with John Deere and competitive equipment technology, trade values and finance options
  • In-store retail sales coverage as directed by Store Manager
  • Participate in local sales events/shows as directed by the Ag Sales Manager

Knowlege, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with John Deere agricultural equipment and relevant short lines offered by Frontier Ag & Turf
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Capacity to manage large volumes of information and data
  • Tenacity to repeatedly conduct effective sales calls with a keen understanding of customer needs and closing ratios

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Outside Sales and Retail sales environments
  • Normal schedule will be 8:00 AM to close Monday, Friday and Saturday, subject to change as directed by Store Manager
  • Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours
  • Lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Bend frequently
  • Reach frequently
  • Employees will work in a non-hostile work environment.  The employee is expected not to engage in any activity that unreasonably interferes with performance of any other employee, such as sexual harassment, discrimination, verbal or physical intimidation, or any type of violent act or threat
